At eighteen, she joined the Israeli Defense Force for the mandatory two-year service, was assigned to the Armored Corps, and served as a tank instructor.Throughout the years, Sharon held multiple leading positions in the high-technology industry. She was a new-product development manager, a marketing manager and was involved in the development and introduction of both new-to-the-firm and new-to-the market innovations. In August 2001, Sharon chose to leave her career behind and joined her husband for a two-year fellowship in organ transplantation in New York City. Unable to pursue a career in her field, she opened her own catering company that delivered nutritious meals for daycare centers around Manhattan. The family left New York and returned to Israel in the summer of 2003.

But the relocation to New York had changed Sharon forever. She realized that her highly demanding career couldn’t reside under the same roof with her husband’s intense career as a transplant surgeon. Additionally, the hardships she faced back in her native country, the compromises that she needed to make, and the feeling of longing for a different place resulted in the family’s immigration to the United States in 2009.Sharon’s memoir, My Master’s in Life Administration, describes her journey to find balance, fulfillment, and happiness, while making difficult life choices.

It is told through the eyes of an MBA graduate, and it celebrates the strength of the female spirit both in business and in personal life.My Master’s in Life Administration is a contemporary immigration story, the first ever written by an immigrant career woman who needed to choose between her career and her family. It challenges the conventional concepts of planning, time, right and wrong, and success, and proves that unusual problems are resolved by applying unusual solutions.
